Grade 7 students have been starting their preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation by volunteering at the Good Shepherd Venture Center in downtown Hamilton. The grade 7 students have been incorporating the Catholic Social Teachings, especially 'Preferential Treatment for the Poor and Vulnerable' into practice. This is the first step for the upcoming Confimandi to understand what it takes to be dedicated Christian Witnesses in the Catholic Church. Along with volunteering their time to help the less fortunate at the Hamilton Good Shepherd, many students will be participating in the 14th annual board wide Pilgrimage "Walk With Christ: Justice for the Poor", where their participation will help support development projects in Haiti, Uganda and the Dominican Republic. The students have witnessed firsthand the numerous social justice issues while assisting with various good deeds at the Good Shepherd and the Pilgrimage Walk.
